Where it all started

The origin of our company dates back to 1957, when we started as a local garage in Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands. When Hans Bezemer took over the family business in 1976, he started collecting classic cars. When he passed away in 2007, we started with our “Real Art on Wheels” philosophy. We believe in heritage and preservation.

‘We believe in heritage
and preservation’

Bodie Hage

Grew up in the collection of Hans Bezemer. At a young age, his passion for classic cars was encouraged by Hans Bezemer. While accompanying him to many motoring events, concours d’elegances and trips visiting other collectors, Bodie developped a great eye for quality. Seen so many different cars, he has a widely developped taste: you can make him happy with highly original cars and historic sports cars. Bodie holds a degree in financial accounting from Nyenrode Business University and is a registered appraiser of historic vehicles (Federatie TMV).

Wessel van der Laan

Has over 30 years of experience in the historic and classic car world. He is a highly knowledgeable mechanic. He oversees and manages all restoration projects, maintenance and (international) car transports. In his rare spare time he can’t resist working with his tools and loves working or restoring one of his classic Ducati’s.

Bram Baijens

Has almost 20 years of experience as mechanic on modern cars. He joined Real Art on Wheels after he experienced working on the newest cars became boring. With his problem-solving way of thinking he is a huge talent in our workshop. During the weekends you will find him often at the (international) racetracks. He is a pitlane engineer during 24 Hour of Le Mans, Dubai, Sebring, et cetera.

Ben Koopal

Visited our workshop for the first time after his military service back in 1970. We are thankful he never left us. Ben is a real car enthusiast and avid model car collector. He loves original untouched European cars. After his official retirement, he stayed with Real Art on Wheels to assist Wessel and Bram in the workshop and transportation.

Anton van Luijk

Was born in the first year of production of the Porsche 911 and the last of the Ferrari 250 GTO. He couldn’t help himself being a petrol addict. Pedigree has always been a major importance in the art world and so is in the classic car world. Anton is our carchaeologist. Researching the history and heritage of classic and important cars is his main task.

Gaby Bezemer

Started with offering limousine services in the early 1990s. Her company was the first to rent out chauffeur-driven stretch limousines in The Netherlands. She sold the company successfully in 2004. After she sold the company, she shared the passion for classic cars with her late husband Hans Bezemer and was director at Bezemer Taxi Services. In 2021 Gaby retired, however she’s still assisting while we are attending classic car events.

Anita van Leeuwen

Was introduced to Bodie at university. She holds a degree in financial accounting from Nyenrode Business University. After her graduation, she worked several years for KPMG. Afterwards she started as interim controller and worked for several multinational companies. In 2019, she joined Real Art on Wheels where she supervises business accounting and supplier relations.

Wouter Boschi

Often went along to his uncle’s garage in his childhood, where he witnessed many restoration projects and private collections. Later on, he developed a love for everything that has to do with digital. As our marketer, he combines his strengths on a daily basis for all our branding, marketing and communication work.
