In 1971, this Ferrari 365 GTB/4 “Daytona” (VIN 14337) was delivered to its first owner in Italy through the official dealer Crepaldi Automobili in Milan. A total of only nine cars were delivered in Giallo Senape (mustard yellow). In 1976, the car was sold for 15,000 CHF by the Dutch dealer Robert de la Rive Box to New York. Around 1986 the car returned to Europe and was bought by a German collector. In 2000, the car came into the hands of a famous Dutch interior designer.
For several years, we have known about this Daytona (or 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 “Daytona”). The car was at that time red and owned by a befriended collector. After some research, we discovered that a total of only nine cars were executed in Giallo Senape, including this car. After we purchased the car, we fully restored it with an eye for originality. We had the chrome work done in Italy. Also the carpet comes from Italy. Through our preservation techniques we were able to preserve the original dashboard and the leather upholstery of door panels and seats. The engine and gearbox were overhauled in the Netherlands. On all parts we found the original body numbers, which further confirms the originality of the whole. The rims were refurbished and fitted with correct Michelin XWX tires. Everything was extensively documented and the process monitored by Real Art on Wheels.
Do you make the windshield trim for a Daytona?
Thanks
JC
More about the history of this beatiful Daytona, it was traded in 11 October 1980 for the the 1980 Ferrari 308 GTSi that I own (chassis #33363). I just put that Ferrari up for sale on Bring a Trailer showing the documentation of the two chassis numbers.
That’s very interesting, we are looking forward to see more of this.
