This Bentley S2 Continental Flying Spur was presented at the Geneva Motor Show of 1961. It was produced for the European market: left hand drive and a speedometer in km/h. The car was painted in Tudor Grey with a Red leather interior. The exact same color combination as we see today. Since 1996, this Bentley S2 Continental Flying Spur was in the hands of the very well-known Blaton family from Belgium. In the construction industry and real estate, this family includes the famous racer Jean Blaton, alias 'Beurlys', who raced for some of the most prestigious marques during the years 1957-1987. The car was in a private museum of the family until 2014, which was located in an old plant of the family business in the middle of Brussels. It was driven and serviced from time to time with Bentley Belgium in St. Stevens-Woluwe.
In 2014, the car was acquired by the last custodian - a respected client of Real Art on Wheels. The car was serviced periodically at Brabo Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialist and over 80,000 EUR was invested in the past decade. Work included, besides regular service: a rebuild of the 8 cylinder engine and gearbox, brakes and several other work carried out.
