ABOUT
The classic Porsche 911 had an update for 1972-1973 model years (production between August 1971 and July 1972). The car was equipped with the larger 2.341cc engine (known as 2.4L). The Porsche 911E and 911S used Bosch mechanical fuel injection in all markets. For 1972, the Porsche 911T was carbureted in Europe, but for the United States the Prosche 911T also came with the MFI (mechanical fuel injection). The USA market Porsche 911T delivered therefor 140 horsepower over 130 horsepower for the European models.
The car had an unusual oil filler behind the right side door, with the dry sump oil tank relocated from behind the right rear wheel to the front of it in an attempt to move the center of gravity slightly forward for better handling. An extra oil filler/inspection flap was located on the rear wing, for this reason it became known as an “Oil Klapper”, “Ölklappe” or “Vierte Tür (4th door)”. This was discontinued at following models as some people used this opener to fuel the car.
This Porsche 911T was originally delivered in the United States and delivered in Albert Blue with a black interior, the same livery she has today. Over 20 years ago the car was imported into The Netherlands and sympathetically restored. The car is retaining its original matching numbers engine. This Porsche 911 T is currently registered in The Netherlands and comes with a nice file of service records and is ready to be enjoyed.
This Porsche 911 is for sale. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for further details.
