2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale
Every Ferrari is special, but a rare few are Speciale
Ferrari is not shy of making their cars more advanced than their predecessors. The Ferrari 458 Speciale is the perfect example; it packs an array of advanced technical solutions such as active aerodynamics which sets the car apart from the 458 Italia and make it even harder for the 430 Scuderia and Challenge Stradale to keep up with. The active aerodynamics were designed by Ferrari Styling Centre in cooperation with Pininfarina. It’s the perfect car for owners looking for an even more driver focused sensation, on and off the track.
Ferrari won the International Engine of the Year Awards (Performance Engine of the Year and above 4-L Class) in 2015 with their V8 engine that equips the 458 Italia, Spider and the Speciale and Speciale Aperta. Other than the awards it won, this engine is notable for being the last naturally aspirated V8 that can be found in a mid-engine Ferrari. Its successor, the 488 GTB, is powered by a 3.9-L twin-turbocharged V8.
The Speciale’s engine pushes out 597 bhp at 9000 rpm and 540 Nm (398 lb⋅ft) at 6000 rpm. Weighing only 1290 kg (2840 lb.), the car can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in just 3 seconds. When Ferrari put the Speciale on the Fiorano test track it set a time of 1:23,5 (only 2 seconds slower than the 800 bhp 812 Superfast).
Production discontinued in 2015 to make place for the next generation mid-V8s. Being the last of the naturally aspirated V8 engines Ferrari will ever make, it is sure to be a future classic and a fantastic investment.
Our Ferrari 458 Speciale
This Ferrari 458 Speciale is a one-owner car and first hit the roads in Belgium on the 20th of February 2014. The car recently received a full service and there’s three years left of the seven years Ferrari Service. The car packs a wide range of options, such as the telemetry system, leather seats with alacantara and the historical colour Grigio Ferro which is the first paint and accident free.
New buyers had the option to choose from two different stripes: the NART (North America Racing Team) stripe and the race stripe. This 458 Speciale wears the latter in black with silver outlining. The wheels are five-spoke in dark grey, so the overall look and feel of the car is very classy. The first owner picked the full interior carbon fiber package, which includes the steering wheel, shifting paddles, doors and AC covers. Extra features that give the car a real race feel, are the exception of floor mats and the led rev counter installed at the top of the steering wheel. The car also has the Telemetry System.
The new owner will benefit the possibility to deduct VAT.
