In early 2017, a wave of excitement swept through the heart of Amsterdam as Real Art on Wheels proudly unveiled their Pop-Up Store in the city’s downtown area. This was a historic moment, marking the very first showroom in the Netherlands dedicated to classic and extraordinary vehicles. This exclusive showcase featured classic and extraordinary vehicles, transforming the heart of Amsterdam into a haven for automotive enthusiasts and art connoisseurs alike.
The Pop-Up Store found its home on the illustrious P.C. Hooftstraat, Amsterdam’s renowned luxury shopping street. Stretching over 300 meters, P.C. Hooftstraat was lined with flagship stores of internationally acclaimed fashion brands such as Dior, Louis Vuitton, Armani, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Hackett London, Hermès, Valentino, Paul Smith, IKKS, and many more. It was a fitting location for a showcase of automotive artistry.
Before Real Art on Wheels transformed the space into their classic car haven, the building had served as the office for the distinguished law firm “De Vos Advocaten.” However, with a change in ownership and the arrival of IVY Group, renovations were initiated, and a new chapter began for the building. Real Art on Wheels was selected to bring their unique vision to life in this prestigious location.
From the moment the doors swung open until March 2018 when they reluctantly closed, the PC Hooft Pop-Up Store left an indelible mark on Amsterdam’s automotive scene. The PC Hooft Pop-Up Store became a must-visit destination for enthusiasts, collectors, and anyone with an appreciation for the fusion of art and automotive excellence.
